Zoo

Kati and the kids have been back from Hungary for a day now. We decided to take the kids to the zoo in Nuremberg, which is about an hours drive from Zeilitzheim. It was a fun day off and we're all quite exhausted, now.

Wine and Merriment

Weinfest in Zeilitzheim!

Loud music, much drinking, some food, good weather. Ingredients for a merry party. Oh, and did I mention the wine princesses? Can't have a Weinfest without them.

Against Authority

At least that's what it says on this right-of-way sign in our village oz Zeilitzheim, Germany. The village youth must be especially bored this year because stickers are springing up all over the place.

Heartache

Double Heart

Kati and the kids are in Hungary. It feels really, really weird. We haven't been separated for more than a weekend since the kids were born and it feels really strange.

And I thought I might get some work done on my book, without the kids running around, but the truth is: I miss them all so much that I'm getting less done than if they were here.

Okay. I got that off my chest. Back to the task at hand...

Summer II

Berry Two

My sister and my nieces are visiting. That's great for our daughters too. And: it was the last day in the kindergarten today before summer vacation. So: the kids are officially off.

Summer

Sky

Summer. I love this time of year. Too bad we hardly really get to enjoy it (much). But I've been trying. I have started to just take some time off here and there and go for walks. The kids love going out and investigating everything there is to see in nature. The mirabelle plum is ripening now and we have found the perfect tree on one of our walks. Give one of the twigs a gentle shake and a whole rain of small, ripe yellow plums showers down on you. Yummy.
